The Eswatini Cricket Association is proud to announce the hosting of a three-day ICC Coaching Course for 30 teachers set to take place from 26–28 February 2026 at Bethel Court Hotel and Malkerns Country Club. This important initiative marks another significant step in ECA’s ongoing commitment to developing cricket at grassroots level and strengthening the future of the sport in the Kingdom of Eswatini.
The course is funded by the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) with valued support from the Olympic Solidarity- World Programmes Technical Course for Coaches. ECA extends its sincere gratitude for this crucial financial support which continues to play a vital role in building capacity and advancing cricket development in the country.
The training will be conducted by international coaching expert Landry Rurangwa who brings extensive global experience in coach education and cricket development. He will be assisted by ECA’s qualified local coach tutors, Mbali Dlamini and Sibongiseni Dlamini ensuring both international best practice and strong local relevance in the delivery of the programme.
This course forms part of the ECA Coach Training and Education Programme which focuses on empowering teachers with the knowledge, skills and qualifications needed to become certified cricket coaches. By equipping teachers to lead and mentor young players, the programme aims to:
- Improve the quality and structure of schools cricket competitions
- Increase participation and performance standards at grassroots level
- Establish sustainable and effective schools cricket development pathways
- Strengthen the long-term future of cricket in Eswatini.
The initiative comes at an exciting time for the sport globally following the recent inclusion of cricket in the Olympic Games. Through programmes such as this ICC Coaching Course, ECA continues to invest in people, systems and structures that will elevate cricket to higher levels and inspire the next generation of players, coaches and leaders.
The Eswatini Cricket Association once again expresses heartfelt appreciation to the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association and the Olympic Solidarity for their invaluable support in making this course possible.
